Project Portugal-


Casa nas Serras which started out as 'Project Portugal' is a charming Bed and Breakfast located in Vila Nova de Poiares, Central Portugal. In between Porto in the north and Lisbon in the south we are situated 30 minutes east of Coimbra on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela.

After the renovations, this authentic country house has been turned into a small paradise in the Portuguese countryside.

Our blog below shows every step of the way, from tearing down parts of the house, to the reconstruction, the works on the swimming pool, interior designing, gardening and much more.

Painting

Today was the celebration of 100 years Portugal as a republic, so the workmen had the day off today. We took advantage of that to start painting the laundry room which was floored on Friday of last week and yesterday (Monday). We started with the hope of painting 2 layers and have that be enough to cover all cement and marks made. So far we are happy with the result, now just waiting for it to dry and to see the end result in daylight tomorrow. We were also able to start painting the doorframes of 3 doors that will remain.
