Project Portugal-


Casa nas Serras which started out as 'Project Portugal' is a charming Bed and Breakfast located in Vila Nova de Poiares, Central Portugal. In between Porto in the north and Lisbon in the south we are situated 30 minutes east of Coimbra on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela.

After the renovations, this authentic country house has been turned into a small paradise in the Portuguese countryside.

Our blog below shows every step of the way, from tearing down parts of the house, to the reconstruction, the works on the swimming pool, interior designing, gardening and much more.

Contract signed...


Two weeks after our visit to Portugal we can finally say that we will be starting renovations on the house soon!! After 3 productive days, meeting with local builders and an engineer, we have come to an agreement in contract. If there are no sudden surprises, the renovation on the roof will start next month (April) and then the rest of the renovation will follow.

With all this more or less planned, we have decided that we will be leaving Belgium on May 3rd, arriving in Vila Nova de Poiares on May 4th.
